I have certainly damaged new Buffalo's, (yes 2 of them) by same mistake in past few weeks. (Tried to use output stage of Primare CD31, but used wrong point on board and most probably fried Buffalo'sput /dac's out )
After the first I did not realise the reason why the first build never worked, but with the 2nd unit I played it for a hour or more through a different CDP output stage and all worked well. Very nice sound and I could wait to use the Primare circuit. With the second board I only connected one side and it was immediately dead. I stopped and went back to the Audio Analogue and only the 1 channel was making music.
Frustrating and expensive lesson!
Whilst waiting for my 3rd Buffalo board within weeks I now want to see if I can reconfigure the side that is working to play stereo so I can at least get some joy from my attempts.
I would like to remap input to get stereo from 4 outputs on 1 side. I think the jumpers on output of board is the easy part, but I am unsure about input and settings.
Any ideas, please
