Hi
With Buffalo III connected to sidecar and 4-Channel S/PDIF i get frequent unlocks with my cdplayer via RCA SPDIF. Input with my DVD player SPDIF unlocks are less frequent but still there. All switches are off, just remapping on. Also some cracking noise associated. When i connect 4-Channel S/PDIF directly (sidecar excised) to DAC, no noise and no unlocks, sound is clean. Connections are double checked and working. Boards re-worked. Still waiting for my waveIO USB card to try I2S. Power supply to Buffalo is half of LCDPS module and Placid HD Bipolar supply to IVY-III. My 4-Input Selection Switch Kit has switch order inverted (known issue in some boards) but work with the change of the inputs. Have 75 ohm position 1 and 3. What should i look for? RF interference and isolate? rewire to BNC in both input and output ends? Is power supply not enough and use Placid HD with 600 mA? (i have the beefier heatsinks installed). A little puzzled....

Try increasing the DPLL bandwidth via the DIP switches.

Switches 5,6 and 7 on in SW1, DAC was already warm for 3 hours, still cracks and loosing lock

Any chance you could post some pics? Could be a wiring(contact) or routing issue.

Are you certain the power is not sagging from the LCDPS? Can you measure it while all inputs are driven by active sources?

I did measure voltages with all elements connected and inputs driven by active sources.
Set LCDPS to 5.25 V
With load connected i get 5.15 V
DVD playing, steady 5.15 V, no changes with unlocks.
One hour after power on, still 5.15 V (and unlocks)
Still to try my working Placid HD but haven't had time to change power supply set up. Has Dual mono is on my plans i would like to use LCDPS for the 2 DAC's.

Problem solved with Placid HD 5.25 V shunted with 50mA. I guess LCDPS doesn't deliver enough current for Buffalo III+4 Channel S/PDIF+Sidecar. Time to listen, love the DAC

Reducing or shorting R1 and/or R3 will make LCDPS produce more than enough current :)
But I think you have landed on a good solution in any case! :)
