Please read the chapter "Input options for the DAC module" from the guide. Input options are described there.

The connections look good. However, the Buffalo only accepts TTL-level S/PDIF directly, not consumer-level*. This is the purpose of the S/PDIF level converter modules (single or quad).

* Consumer-level S/PDIF is 0.5V p-p. TTL-level is 0-3.3V (or 0-5V).

Russ/Brian: Is BCK a valid ttl level sp-dif input?

Notice that he has connected sp-dif to BCK and gnd, and not D1 and GND

PS. luigimarca: Have you read the integration guide?

Oi. You are correct, the signal is on the wrong input (BCK instead of D1).

You do not need the S/PDIF (WM8804) Receiver Module.

You need either the "Single S/PDIF (or AES-EBU) Level Converter Kit" or the "4-Channel S/PDIF (or AES-EBU) Level Converter Kit," both available on the Buffalo-III page.

I also noticed your output wires. What are you going to connect them to?
You should order a IV stage (Ivy3*) and a power supply for that (LCBPS*).

I would be glad to help, but I think you should find an Italian diy forum and get help there as English is not my primary language either and I am not that experienced.

Take your time, try to read up on as much as possible and get help that will help you understand the project and not just tell you what to do.

* "easy" to build and very good sound in most cases.

The lay-out of the connectors is described in the guide also. See fi. the appendix: Pin lay-out of the digital input connector.

I would suggest reading the entire guide FIRST. You indeed also need an I/V stage and a power supply for it, along with a transformer. All this is covered in the guide. Input options depend on what you need, so read the input options section and decide what inputs you would like to add. If you really don't understand things, ask about it before you jump in to simply try it.

hi, I would simply use the buffalo dac converter as my cd player, and go directly to the DAC in the preamp has a transformer input 30k-30k

thanks louis

Hi, thanks for answer, please other questions :

1) the power in ( VN - GND) of single S / PDIF converter

is connected VD of fuffalo dac ?

You say in your guide that

If you want to use all inputs, remove the following jumpers if they are present:
 JPCM1 (JPCM1, 3)
 JPCM2 (JPCM2, 1)
 JPCM3 (JPCM3, 2)
 JDSD1 (JDSD1, 5)
 JDSD2 (JDSD2, 4)

but i use one imput S/PDIF input 1 D1, GND

2) I have to remove some jumpers for direct connection of the source to the DAC in stereo mode?

thanks Brian
