I think that I confused the distortion of the COAX connection with another problem... With or without the COAX connected the following occurs:

Everytime I turn on the DAC there is the sound of a crackling Camp Fire.
If I mute the computer one time it gets less, if another time it's gone or less again.

Also when I pull one connection of the Toslink connection loose of one of the DAC's and reconnect, it gone immediately.
So it's not PC related. I first thought it occured when the PC woke up from standby but that's not it.

Alo playing around with the DPLL does not work...

Does this sounds familiar to anybody?

Best Regards,

Jordo

I'm having a similar problem when I have Toslink and coax wires hooked up to the S/PDIF board.

If I disconnect the coax and just use the toslink, everything works just fine. Or, so it seems.

Maybe a TOSLINK board with an optional voltage divider at the outputs would solve our problem?

It was mentioned in this thread: Unstable Sync for S/PDIF and I2S

P.S. I'm not an engineer.

Hi Mister Davis,

Thank you for your responce!
I am aware of what you say here... But that is another problem.

Leon told me it could be the initialisation face of the DAC.
Today I waited a while before I turned on the PC and that worked this time. Maybe I have let the DAC stabilize for a moment. For how long is jet to be determined...
