Hi all, Someone on the Dutch DIY Audio Forum suggested that I connect the Neutrals of the Placid's to the Chassis to enable the chassis to function as a cage against alien influences. I now have the GND's of the transformers connected to Earth... Does someone here reccognize such an approach and is it reccommended? I would keep the PSU 0V (GND) connections isolated from the chassis ground (Earth). The Earth connection to the chassis should provide the shielding you need, without causing ground loops (I noticed in your thread picture that you have multiple chassis ground connections, which is generally speaking, a no no.

Ok than I leave it this way :) That's what I also thought.
According to this artikle multiple stargrounding is preferable.
The signal is completely floating from the DAC to the Hypex so It's just a bonus.
Pin 1 is isolated from ground.

What article? The point of star grounding is to have a single point, so the potential between grounds is always 0V.

Nope does't work... It's a known article from the DIY audio forum: Star GroundingThe talk about a star of stars connected to each other. It's better to connect them straight to each other than to let them be connected trough the chassis so the current flows via a predetermined path.... That's how I interpreted the text at least... You can have a star of stars, but they should have a single direct connection to the chassis star (earth). They should not use the chassis as the connection between stars, nor have multiple connections (direct wire and chassis).

Ok, but a Star of Stars is per definition multiple is'nt it?...
I have a bolt attached to the chassis but I figured that the wire has a lower resistance than the Chassis so the current will go trough the wire instead of the chassis...
But more ideally I should make the Star Ground Connection Floating from the chassis.
But it must be true now that since Pin 1 does have nothing to do with the chassis anymore, this does'nt matter at all is it?
