Hello, So, I'm awfully close to a working B3, but having an issue. I have a stereo B3 with sidecar and 4xS/PDIF. Can't get the Toslink connection to lock solidly, its intermittent coming and going every 2 seconds or so. However, when I hook up a separate device to the S/PDIF input, suddenly, both get a solid lock and everything works fine. Any ideas? I've rechecked all the termination resistors on the various input types and pretty sure its correct. 75ohm for S/PDIF and 10K for Toslink. EDIT: The reverse is also true. neither input works properly unless both are terminated. Its got to be a resistor termination thing right? Edited by user Monday, May 14, 2012 10:49:56 PM(UTC)

Ok looks like I'm not the only one with this issue. I put a 270/75 voltage divider and it seems to be doing the trick, about an hour so far with no unlocks so I may be finished at last. Sounding great at the moment

Sounding great at the moment Hi Adastra, Do not forget to change the 10Kohm on the 4*SPDIF board to 75ohm as well. Than you are done! Ed

Sounding great at the moment I am having the Toslink LOCK issue as well, I'm not using the Sidecar though, when you say you put a " I put a 270/75 voltage divider and it seems to be doing the trick" Were did you put it & what is it's purpose? What I haven't done is populated the resistors at R2 & R3 on the 4-Channel S/PDIF, as I am not sure what type of input I am going to use on these. All I have connected to the 4-Channel S/PDIF at this stage, is the Toslink input. Any help would be much appreciated. Edited by user Sunday, June 3, 2012 7:54:00 AM(UTC)

To confirm, that's exactly what I did, and the thread I found the answer in. For what its worth, I've now been running for weeks and everything is great, no unlocks and very pleased with the sonic performance.

It lives!!!
Fortunately I had the resistors in stock.
Is there a better way to achieve the same end, like sending the Toslink directly to the Buffalo III & the standard SPDIF to the 4xSPDIFReciever & still switch between somehow?
Thanks guys, it's also very nice to know I actually put the thing together with only one small error, theres a first time for everything :)
