To feed an external master clock to the es9018 Xi pin on the Buffalo III after removing the power to the existing 100MHz clock, is it necessary to physically remove the existing clock to gain access to the clock output solder pad? After externally upsampling a few test files to 352.8k, I ran the DAC with the oversampling filter (FIR) off, and it made such an improvement, I thought I would try defeating the Asrc, but not if it's a non-reversable modification. No, you do not need to remove it. Under the XO, there are three pads that can be accessed from the bottom of the board (see attached image). Keep in mind that the pads in the picture are a top-down view. Simply leaving the VDD_XO Trident will disable the onboard XO. Edited by user Monday, May 21, 2012 1:46:43 PM(UTC)
