Connecting the SPDIF you must always connect the + and -, but you can optionally tie - to GND at the receiver end.

Hi Russ, I tried already this afternoon. I placed a jumper between the - and GND and connected the shield of the COAX to -. It had some result but a little distortion was still present. I will try again...

When trying so, only touching the '-' terminal with a wire or screwdiver is already causing the Lock Distortion to happen... Same as with Leif: "just touching the minus header on the unused input with a screwdriver creates immedeate dropouts and instability on the other input in use".Edited by user Tuesday, April 17, 2012 3:13:49 PM(UTC)

Time for some pictures. :)
You may need to isolate the sources - that is what the transformers do. In which case you would not use GND at all from the sources.

Ok I will post some pictures. Do you want to see the connections as they now are, details of the board and flipside? I've read more about the transformers. Are these to galvanically isolate the sources from the DAC Board? The most Left Hand resistor is changed for a 10 Ohm and the Toslink is connected to that terminal via the + and -. I connected the COAX gain with the - and GND looped and playing trough the toslink. And also the source via COAX. So far so good.
Are the transformers connected to the - ? In that case it will be not that strange if you get distortion or unlockingproblems when touching the - terminal. You will be producing induction that way... True?
But with looping the - and GND together you will bypass the galvanic isolation?

Russ and/or Brian,
Do you maybe have a drawing for me to hold on to to solve the locking problems just like it was be done by Henri? Great change it might work for me as well! But I need a good guide to do so :)
Thx in advance!
Jordo
