Hi all,
Earlier I had already mentioned the 'POP' sound when switching on the amplifier after switching on the DAC Pre Amp first.
Today I discovered that the LH speaker cone is totally pushed out when the POP kicks in. And it stay's there. On the other speaker the cone is pulled IN. This seems less strange but still I don't think this is OK.
This does not happen when I connect my previous DAC...
I'm quite shocked as a mather of fact. The speakers does not seem to be damaged.
Does someone knows what is causing this?!

The power amplifier should be switched on as the last, and also switched off as the first.
Either way, it does not happen to me even if I switch IVY III off before the amplifier.
I assume you do not have output stage, i.e. IVY or Legato, right?

I assume you do not have output stage, i.e. IVY or Legato, right? Hi Miero, That is what I do; First the DAC Pre Amp ON and than the Power Amp ON. I do have two IVY III module's in my dual mono setup.

This is a sign of DC. The same thing happens when you connect a battery to the speaker.
Have you measured the DC on the outputs of the IVY?

No not yet but I will when I'm back home again.
Just meassure between the SE and GND outputs?
This is'nt normal behaviour is it? Any idea what can cause this DC to the signal lines?

Yes, that's how you measure it. Try it with and without it connected to the amplifier, and with the amplifier on and off.
It is not normal behavior, but I am sure we can fix it.

Well, I've meassured on both of the IVY's SE outputs a DC of 0.15V. It does not matter if the Power Amp is connected via the interlinks and ON or OFF... To save my speakers I have disconnected the speaker wires from the Hypex. Edited by user Saturday, April 14, 2012 3:48:43 PM(UTC)

That's way too much. Expected offset close to 0.
The NC has a voltage gain of 26dB = 20 times.
150mV in -> 3V out.
Better check your IVY build again.

Are you using three separate power sources for single IVY?
You can try add jumpers J1-J4 and power it only from the middle power terminal.

No, I installed the jumpers to power the IVY's from the center terminal.... This is not the most recent picture indeed. I added the jumpers later. Edited by user Sunday, April 15, 2012 5:02:53 AM(UTC)

ok, next to try:
Take off the Buffalo's, you can power them down to prevent any accidental shorts.
Only power the IVY's. And measure again.

A good pic of the bottom of your ivy would be helpful as well. ( That doesn't sound right...)

Next test. Power the whole rig but don't connect it to your source (PC as I remember).
Measure again.
