Thanks: 1 times
Hi folks

I'd like to build a dual placid bipolar ps for an orion crossover. This will be set to 12V and 150mA each side.
I've made a few things successfully and can follow a recipe. I can use a soldering iron and a multimeter. But I dont understand electronics.

I've looked at the manual and think I'm up to the job, however I don't get how to wire up the outputs.
The schematic shows
TP_OUT+
TP_SHUNT+
OUT3
OUT2
OUT1
TP_SHUNT-
TP_OUT-

It look like
+v is obtained across TP_OUT+ and OUT3
-V - is obtained across TP_OUT- and OUT1

What do you do with the TP_OUT2 TP_SHUNT+ and TP_SHUNT- ?

It might be worth adding this into the manual for keen but fledgling DIYers.

Help please anyone?

Hi Bill - I haven't actually built a Placid, but I did scan the manual a while ago as at some stage I'm planning to do the same for my Orion ASP/XO. I think 'TP' refers to 'test point' - i.e. that's where you stick the probes of the multi-meter when you're going through the various stages of the set up procedure. All the best, Gordon
