I'd like to use the digital volume capability of the DAC, this would simplify using an all-balanced signal chain.

To control the digital volume, you can use the Volumite. I use it myself for my Dual Mono setup.

The AC2 (coming out soon) will be able to provide you with IR capability.

Thanks

AC2 = audio controller 2. There is a thread in the control section about the AC1. The AC2 is it's successor.

I'd love to define "soon" but reading the thread about the AC2, it is supposed to be ready but the doc has not been completed yet. Russ and Brian are also working on many projects so... They could tell you more about the ETA.

I suggest reading the thread

Ciao!
