With much help from LeonB on this Forum, I've finally finished my Dual-Mono Buffalo II with Tridents. Having used a single stereo version for a while, and been more than a little impressed with it, I took the plunge. Being very much a newbie to this DIY Hi-Fi, and electronics in general, I found the building to be very interesting, challenging and rewarding. It's early days yet, but the sound quality has improved significantly in all areas over the single Buff. & as this took a week or so before it settled down I know there's more to come yet! I've still got to tidy up the wiring here and there but that can wait for a bit. The case isn't quite the same size as my other Naim units but it looks pretty good in my collection of black boxes anyway (second unit down on the right-hand stack) - Many thanks to you good folk at Twisted Pear for a great product!

simbloke wrote:Your DAC is nice but blimey! Are they all amps? Hi simbloke. It's an active system with three dual-mono amps, active crossover & Cd player, plus turntable, phono stage, preamp., and separate power supplies for everything. Oh, and an understanding wife! pinnocchio wrote: ...Where did you buy the chassis? Hi Pinnochio; it's from Modushop in Italy - an excellent supplier and very well made indeed. Thanks for all your kind words folks. So, what's next to build? PS, anyone know how to disguise soldering-iron burns in a tablecloth by any chance? Place your bottle of Amarone over the burns. That will do - at least for a while.

Hi Chris, sorry, can't remember the exact model of case. It's approx. 100mm (h) x 330mm (w) x 330 (d) I think it was a "Pesante"?
On the front of the case I've fitted the mute & lock LEDs from one Buffalo to the right, & on the left there's the selector for the MUX 4:1 module which I haven't fitted yet & probably won't bother with because I only use the DAC for computer audio.
Roll on the USB input module...

Hi, many thanks for your quick answer. My question about the front plates was referred to the amplifier. Otherwise, keep on !!!

No problem, perhaps my mistake.
Have you eventuell some pic from the front?
Many thanks in advance.
