I ask because I'm getting my second Placid HD BP & Legato 3.1 tomorrow, so apart from a set of Tridents I'm ready to go dual-mono. So, given the delays in Trident supplies for the time being, is it worth removing the Tridents from one Buffalo (currently in use), go dual-mono, then fit/refit the Tridents when they become available? Or isn't it worth doing yet please?

I'd prepare and test the kits, but wait for the second set of Tridents for final assembly. Removing and refitting modules like the Tridents is quite some work, and there's always the danger of damaging the DAC during the soldering.

with multiple dac boards and just one set of tridents, I´d prefer to have the tridents in sockets, to be able to move them around, without risking to ruin the pcb´s
any downside to this solution?
best

Thanks for the helpful replies folks. Leon, I think I'll follow your advice. I'm afraid I'm not very patient!

Hopefully, the Tridents will become available again in the near future (hint, hint...)

Best wishes!

Tony.

Well obviously it's a slightly less reliable, higher resistance solution.
