hello folks
sry to post this, but sat down to play -y-day and my dac is dead
If´s been playing for a few weeks since I installed the new L3 and all has been well.
It does not work whether I choose s/pdif or I2S input
S/pdif is via MUX and USB is via EXA devices usb to I2S converter (exa locks and shows input format too)
dac is fed 5.45vdc from Placid
all 3 Tridents deliver 3.3/3.3 and 1.2 vdc respectively
AVCC measures 3.3vdc on both sides
Legato 3 gets 14.45 vdc and pulls correct currents with respective shunt on a Placid per channel only run (unbuffered) balanced
measures approx or close to 0 mvdc between + and - on bal out
(approx 7.8vdc between each phase and gnd on bal out)
any ideas?

and yes...system works with dvd player straight into tvc

best
Leif

As always pictures can help. But first off, is you lock LED lighting when a good signal is applied?

YES
I´ll check again later when I get back from work
happened to me once before the voltage to the dac drifted over 5,5vdc and it muted for some reason
will be back in 4,5 -5 hours when I´m home from work

Have you checked the output of the Legato directly? Either with a scope or with a small speaker like a headphone (driven from +out to -out). I have a small 16ohm speaker I use from time to time for just a such purpose.

can I not just measure ac? if signal, it will fluctuate?
If I don´t locate the fault I´ll replace dac board and se if it behaves

hello I´m back
checked all voltages again
readjusted shunt to 56mv on the dual legato psu´s.....still 14.45vdc too
readjusted BII voltage down to 5.4vdc from 5.45
all other voltages on tridents and avcc as before
readjusted the offset on the bal outputs between + and - and they´re stable @ 0.00 !
reconnected to system
and

IT WORKS ??!!

beats me but I don´t care

thxs for excellent support (as usual)
best
