Dear Support Team.

I have a couple of questions concerning the use of the OPUS DAC connected to the I2S outputs of a USB transport called ministreamer.

I have connected the ministreamer to the Opus DAC on the DAC's I2S inputs, like this:

ministreamer OPUS DAC

1 SCLKOUT BCK
2 LRCLKOUT LRCK
6 SDOUT DIN
7 GND G
8 MCLKOUT MCK

dipswitch settings:
setting: meaning:
I2S 1 24 bit I2S (with IWO =1)
DSD 0 PCM
DEEMPH 0 No deemphasis
MODE 0 Control mode hardware
IWO 1 24 bit I2S (with I2S =1)
DIFFHW 0 differential mono mode
FSEL NC filter select
MUTE NC mute
DSR NC sample rate conversion (?)

Settings obtained by looking at the picture showing the dipswitch with the explanation.
This dipswitch picture is available on this forum at a similar topic.

Ministreamer is set to use USB power and is acting as an I2S Master.

For some reason yet unknown to me, only noise is present at the DAC's analogue outputs.
The problem must be on the I2S settings being wrongly configured or there's something wrong with the ministreamer.
Therefore I have sent the same questions to the ministreamer's manufacturer.

My questions are:
Do you have any experience with connecting the OPUS DAC to a USB to I2S converter like the ministreamer?

Do you have any other suggestions as to why the DAC produces only noise?

The ministreamer can be found at: http://www.minidsp.com/o...64-ministreamer?sef=hcfp

Thanks in advance...

Try

adjusting OSR (you call it DSR). This is the internal oversample. Should match the sample rate from ministreamer
Also mute off (set to 1)
This may help: http://hifiduino.blogspo...uino-controller-dac.html (look at the h/w mode switch selection)
