Hey guys,

I'd like to build a system with a MUX but they seem to be perennially out of stock at the moment. Can Russ or Brian give us an idea of when they'll be back?

Alternatively, can anyone recommend a similar alternative? I'd be looking at 3-4 inputs with i2s output.

It has been out of stock for about a month. A new version should be on sale soon; we are waiting for boards for testing.

PS: "Soon"="2-3 weeks" if all goes well.

Hot chilies and bacon...

Until we test the prototypes, I don't want to commit on the final features, but it uses the WM8805.

I was also incorrect on my posting of dates. They are in the next batch of boards, not the current batch on order, so add a couple weeks to what I said before (sorry).

Luckily I didn't order receiver/transceiver too soon, I know something new is coming.... let wait and see!

WM8805 for mux :)

Now this sounds interesting.

Looking at the Wolfson page it seems this only supports SPDIF selection, any chance it will provide for I2S switching?

Nope, no chance for that. But there is another little module coming that will. :)

Very intriguing. Any chance of the same board handling SPDIF and I2S switching?

Hi Brian,

It leaves me with some questions... When will you have more details?

Thanks

It's going to be a new version of the OTTO.

The basic idea is 2-in 1-out (or the opposite) switch mux'ing 4 data lines using a relay. The triggering will be buffered with a transistor, so a uC can trigger it, or any switch. Possibly spots for termination resistors.

how can you be "testing boards",when this is not settled?

I never said we were testing the i2s switch board.

Will the new mux be able to accept an AES/EBU source? Really need a solution to switch between S/PDIF and AES/EBU...

Thanks for the update.

Yes. The plan is at least one of the inputs will accept an AES/EBU signal.

Excellent news. One AES/EBU is all I need.

Knowing that you guys have your hands full with the BIII rollout, any ballpark guess as to when the new switcher will be available?

Thanks again for the prompt response!
