absolutely! I can listening to my K-1000 without using pre-power amp combo, If the driving volume can be a bit lounder (now the gain is 3x, more than 3 will be too loud for other normal headphone.
next step i will try to power it up to +/- 18V.

Russ Hi Russ and Brian, The new corrected Ventus manual now says: "DC coupling Legato requires trimming out any differential DC offset. If you cannot then you will need to AC couple." Will try  Before building: which are the components on the Legato and/or Ventus that could be matched to improve chances of being able to trim out the DC in the end? Just adjusting the pot on the ventus should do the trick.

What exactly do I measure when I'm removing the DC offset? Do I put my meter in VDC mode across one of the IN terminals and the OUT terminal and adjust the pot until it reads 0?

You can either have your source connected or simply short the input to ground if you don't.
If you have the source connected you get the opportunity to adjust out any offset it might bring on its own. :)

Hi
I have a problem if I connect my BII/Legato2/Ventus directly to my YBA Passion power amp :
there is a big hum.
My setup is:
BII,Legato2 without output caps,Ventus for bal/se conversion - adjusted away the DC on the Ventus.
When I connect it to my YBA passsion pre sounds very nice but there is crosstalk in the inputs.
Any ideas please ?

Ground loop or EMI is the culprit for hum every time.

Finally the problem solved by inserting a capacitor between ventus and amp.
But I would like to avoid capacitors in the signal path
Maybe there an incompatibility with YBA circuit
