Btw, do you guys mind my asking if the Otto II switch can switch by itself and also forced with an external switch at the same time? Can't find a manual. I have 2 spdif sources, one send signal all the time even digital silence and the other shut off with no signal. So i don,t want it to switch on the silent one when not needed. Thanks!

Do you mean, will the OTTO detect a signal and switch automatically? No.

Strange I did not get any notification for your reply, anyway, thanks Brian. New question to keep you busy guys, I want to write down the attenuation scale of the Volimuite on my DAC's front face. What is it please, if possible in -dB on a linear scale (the rotation of the Volumite's knob). Thanks! Matthieu, enjoying my DAC for a lifetime I hope, best one ever heard around. Hi there, hope I'm not in the archeotecnologist crowd now with my BII ;) new questions: • on a Placid 2.0.1, is my 0.5V PP ripple at C1 normal even if I now have a 5600uF cap? It's a 16V Panasonic FC and DC is 12.7V there. And original BOM was 1000uF... Cap failure or normal behavior because of high current used? I was concerned about voltage here for reliability purpose (16V rated cap here so 25% headroom with the 12.7V, safe enough I guess). I want my BII to last for ever and upgrade things where I can. Planning a 105°C 5000h Panasonic FR for C5.
• my Voluminte gives no volume change at all between lower position, around 6:30, and up to 9:30, like the 5k was damaged. Thee should be some dB more there, and as it was a used and badly build kit I got, can an overheated soldering process have damaged the 5k linear pot?

Nice I have not done my volume scale on my DAC! Don't remember where's that -63.5dB was from... So what's the real deal guys? Both ES9018 and ES9029 please. We only go down to -64 in the firmware, since more than that is wasted pot travel, and makes the usable range too small. If you want it quieter than that, we figure just hit pause 😀
