Yes, obvious heat sources are the HD's heatsinks and the rectifiers. The BP version isn't pushing things very hard, and it shows. On the DAC it's mainly the 1.2V Trident that is running hot.

Would using the case as a heat sink be a better option?

I have no problem using 2" heat sinks.

As per default Brian is supping 2.5" - that's even better.
